ohhh it has been a while...i dunno how it happened but i got swept up in a whirlwind of cupcakery madness!! i can't stop baking, dunno why but unfortunately painting got pushed aside...but not for long, i'm itching to paint again!!

the giant cupcake experiment

this is one of my non-painting adventures however it is still creative. so nadia and nicole turned 4 on wed and i promised to make them a special cake for their bday...i like to say go big or go home...so i went big! lol this was seriously an adventure that i boldly was going where i've never gone before!! haha..wow i was learning as i went and it was a nice experiment to really get the creative juices flowing. how to tie in a minnie mouse theme with their cake...i've done a few cakes here and there before but this was a huge challenge and i have to say i'm pretty happy with the end result! next time i won't use cake mix! lol this has been a busy week i look forward to picking up the brush again and doing what i do best!!

the beginning of something wonderful...

I've finally created a blog! congrats to me! lol! so here it begins...my online diary of my painting escapades! i just had my show opening on Oct 9th...my 2nd show, unfortunately there was a 5 year gap between my 1st and 2nd show, but hey everything happens for a reason, right? right!! all i know is all the time i spent painting and getting ready for this show helped me realize how much i love, how much i need painting in my life. I've loved drawing ever since i was little and even went to art school but it seems like only now is when I've realized that creating art for myself is anecessity, so it goes...as i need air to live so i need art to live too. corny yes...but very true. ;)
